yes, i know, i know. i haven’t been on tumblr in a while. so much so that i missed this post from my first friend in middle school, kawehi.
she and i met in mr. cooper’s social studies class (red team!), and i introduced her to a couple of my friends (who would turn out to become her best friends). even though we’re not the best of friends, we share a lot in common (love of adventure, stubbornness, no-frills attitude), and we met up (all by the stroke of chance and facebook) while she was touring in nyc last month. we had a blast, and i’d like to thank paul and brian for putting up with us as we talked our way through 10 years of life in a couple short hours.
she’ll be back in the city next week, and i’m excited to see her perform (hopefully!) and visit alewife queens.
After some well needed two days of rest, I picked up a bagel and coffee and headed for Central Park - the weather was lovely and I intended on soaking in as much of New York as I could. This was, after all, to be my last night in NY. After a stroll in the park, we walked all the way from the park…

First Post April 2010Kristin and Dannielle are girls who like girls, and together they give advice to those who are confused about sexuality, dating, love, and dressing up like Super Woman. Anyone is invited to submit a question — the only requirement is that you’re looking for an honest and candid answer to your problem. Sincere and funny, they added a weekly webcast to the site in July. Dannielle created Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber and Kristin pursues a Master’s Degree in Gender Studies.

Monopoly Revolution.
I want this Monopoly board so badly, but I want to play with fake cash, not this new credit card system they’ve devised. I admit it is probably easier to handle and transfer money with, but it’s not the same. Still, the round board and new pieces are totally sexified. I forgot the source, sorry whomever.
i played monopoly with my siblings when we were younger. and i completely agree with kevinnuut. sigh. oh, how i miss the good ol’ days.
wow.
thanks erin for the link.
take a deep breath
look at the world around you.
sit in silence
ignore the to-do list
smile.
stop moving for just a moment
exhale.
embrace the solitude
remember that life goes on
so why not appreciate the now?
just for a moment.
This is slowly turning into a pet peeve / resolution of mine. Enough with the precariousness and shakiness of a lack of commitment.
“Working on the right thing is probably more important than working hard.”

“Working on the right thing is more important than working hard.”“I might start running next week”

“I will start running next week”“I think that one is the best”, “I think that looks good on you”, “I think I’ll have chicken”
vs
“That one is the best”, “That looks good on you”, “I’ll have chicken”I’m as guilty as anyone but have been working on getting rid of it. I will stop doing it, I will create something new this week, and working on the right thing is more important than working hard.

Writing Instrument of the Day: New from Sharpie, the Liquid Pencil is the prodigious spawn of too many wine coolers at the annual Pencil Fraternity / Pen Sorority mixer. Its liquid graphite “ink” allows the user to erase at will for up to three days, after which any written material becomes permanent. Suck it, Mike Nesmith’s mom!
The Sharpie Liquid Pencil hits stores in September, but you can purchase some right now for $5/pk via Office Depot.

i have to admit that i have a thing for pens. and sharpies. and mechanical pencils. sharpie has made my day. : )
New cognitive research suggests that language profoundly influences the way people see the world; a different sense of blame in Japanese and Spanish.
i am a language nerd. should’ve studied linguistics in college. and then traveled the world. sigh.
